LaunchTeam, at its heart, is a culture. Our team is made up of successful founders who have built and exited companies of their own. These companies have collectively generated hundreds of millions of dollars. One of the common threads we've noticed is that the most successful companies always seem to have founders, key team members, or advisors who have built other companies in the past. There is no silver bullet for gaining experience. It simply takes time.
This is why we built LaunchTeam. We've been through the struggles of growing an organization and we know what it takes. Our accelerator program is our most robust offering, but it's only available to select companies that meet our requirements. Check out the details below to learn more.
The LaunchTeam accelerator program is highly selective. We only work with teams that we feel have the potential to grow into mega-companies. We're looking for strong founders that need 1-3 key resources to achieve their goals. You might need a killer designer, or a brilliant marketer, or a fundraising expert, or a veteran developer who has already scaled products into the millions of users. We can fulfill these needs.
If you're a fit for the accelerator, we'll determine the required resources to achieve your goals. Then we'll place our experienced entrepreneurs into your company as part-time contractors for 3 months. The goal is to bring your company into its next stage of growth during that period.
Our accelerator program isn't for everyone. It's usually cost-prohibitive for smaller companies. Instead of taking equity like most accelerators, we use a plain-and-simple paid model. So, we're typically looking for companies with at least $1M in ARR and/or $1M in funding. Companies at this stage (or beyond) are typically the best fit.
The accelerator program fee is $90,000, paid in monthly installments over 3 months. There is no equity requirement. We like this approach because the upfront cash payment incentivizes our experts to work hard immediately.
There's a reason our program is selective. We believe in relationships and reputation. This goes both ways. If we work with the best companies, we look good (and vice versa). Our hope is that the LaunchTeam stamp of approval will become a positive indicator for your investors, partners, and employees. The following guiding principles help us select the ideal candidates to join our accelerator portfolio.
We only work with teams we love. After our initial interaction with founders, we always ask ourselves a simple, yet critical question: “Would we grab a drink with this team in a non-work-related environment?” We aim to be tightly integrated into the companies we serve, and this question helps us identify cultural fit. Ultimately, it ensures we’ll have fun working together to reach our goals.
By this, we don't mean that design is the most important thing. We literally mean it is everything. If you're an engineer, you should be designing the most elegant code possible. If you're a sales person, you should be designing the best possible pitch. If you're in HR, you should be designing the most enticing company-aura imaginable. Most skills are commodities; easily replicated or interchanged. High-quality, pervasive design is the one common thread that separates good companies from great ones.
Our team is made up of entrepreneurs. We aren't good at paper-pushing, but we're really good at doing meaningful stuff. We always aim to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. One without the other doesn't cut it. This means we aren't afraid to tell you how we really feel, and we expect you to do the same. We appreciate transparency, honesty, and respect.
We operate by a simple mantra: The only reason to be alive is to enjoy it. We aren't driven by money. We're driven by love. It's fairly easy to identify which companies follow this belief system and which ones do not. For us, this a core requirement for every employee, partner, investor, and client.
